lions and tigers and bears...oh my!

we are almost 3 weeks into parenting 2 children. there are really, really good days...and some not so good days. lyla has now entered the lovely stage of being "almost two" and shows her independence and her need for both of us in amazing and sometimes exhausting ways. one thing i can count on though is her incredible gentleness and love for her little sister. she may not always be happy that livie seems to be joined to me 24/7, but that's to be expected i guess...

anyways, tony's mom is here for the next few days to help out (yay!) and so she watched livie for the afternoon so tony and i could have a special outting with just lyla. and we took her to the fair! a first for both my little girl and me...so we got to experience the animals and the food and the smells (hmmmm....) that make up the crazy experience of the fair. next year i hope she'll be big enough to go on some of the rides...this time we walked around with seth and celia and got scared of the pigs but loved the goats. seriously, i've never seen a little girl so excited about the goats...and the cows...and the bunnies...and the ducks...and elephant ears. i so badly want to know the secret to make elephant ears. for me, that was the highlight. oh, and the cotton candy...mmmm cotton candy. next year, i'm just going to plant myself infront of the elephant ear stand and make myself sick on the things.
at the entrance...yay!!

the elephant ear was bigger than lyla's head!

the goats...the best part for lyla!

mmm...touching cotton candy for the first time...sharing her piece with daddy...

on our way home...and coming down off of her sugar high...the lovely results of our cotton candy experience:)...
