deck the halls...

this past tuesday saw us drag out the trimmings for the holidays. such a fun time anyways, but even more so now that lyla is so aware of each thing we did. last year gramma bought lyla her very own ornament and this year lyla got to put in on the tree herself - a very proud moment. the only problem is convincing her that ornaments stay on the tree. one accomplishment at a time i guess!

regardless - i love this time of year! i love that by 3 o'clock, evening is already beginning to announce itself. i love the warm, hearty comfort foods that are in the oven by noon and filling the house with a yummy aroma by 4...i love the soft light that the candles give off as you sip hot cocoa with the ones you love snuggled under blankets, listening to the christmas music on the stereo.

i love autumn more then anything, but nothing beats the beauty of the holiday season...
